Rebeca was born in Mexicali, Mexico on September 30, 1936. She was married to Anselmo on February 27, 1960; they were married 56 years. The happy union created four children. She lived with Anselmo and her kids in Guadalupe, Oxnard, and Victorville. All in California.

Rebeca is survived by husband Anselmo Israel Lerma, sons Jaime Lerma (Catalina) and Hank (Henry) Lerma (Stephanie), daughters Rosanna Lerma and Rachel Lerma Garcia (Brandon), grandson Jaime Andrew Lerma, granddaughters Andriana Jasmine Lerma, Chelsey Rebecca Lerma, Natalie Garcia, Rebekah Garcia, and Alicia Rosanna Garcia, brother David Cardenas, sisters Maria Galvan and Martha Villegas, step-grandsons Anthony Garcia and Jeff Garcia, step-granddaughters Samarah Delgadillo, Rachel Redmond, Gretchen Meyer and Aubrey Shatz as well as many other family and friends. Rebeca is preceded in death by grandson Floyd Lerma.

Rebeca was always in a good happy mood with a wonderful smile that made everyone feel comfortable. She had a great love of her family and life. She loved a good casino run and lottery scratchers – always looking for that next big win. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and watching television especially Law & Order, NCIS and other crime shows, in addition 4pm was time for Judge Judy.

She worked as a frozen food processor and then as delivery coordinator for Oxnard Frozen Food, Inc. for about 25 years. She worked her way to weigh master where she was in charge of weighing the trucks for processing. After retiring, they moved from Oxnard to Victorville.

Rebeca brought much joy and love to her family. She taught them to be positive and loving with laughter and many sayings that she learned from our grandmother. She loved to eat! When she was hungry, she always liked to go to Costco to taste the samples.

She had a passion for helping others, my aunt recalls her helping people in the neighborhood who called for advice and to talk over with her their problems. At times she prayed with them and for them. The power of her prayers was felt by many. She taught us how to love others through our deeds. She will be missed, but lives through all of those she touched.

We celebrate her beautiful life with a memorial service to be held at 10:00 AM on December 12, 2016 at Desert View Funeral Home and Memorial Park. The burial of her ashes will follow the service at 11:00 AM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Desert View located at 11478 Amargosa Rd. Victorville, CA
